The Ibanez RGD61ALMS Axion Label guitar features aggressive yet classy looks, and a modern feature set including a multiscale or fan-fret fingerboard.  The RGD body shape is a double cutaway body with bass side arm bevel. The layered Ash and Nyatoh body has a nice balance of warmth and treble snap and the flamed maple top looks beautiful with cerulean blue burst. The arm bevel and cutaway horns reveal the stained ash which gives a unique three color tone look to this guitar. The low gloss satin finish feels really smooth and your arm or fretting hand rarely sticks as you play.

The neck features a multi scale fan fret design. The treble side has a 25.5 inch (647.7mm) scale and the bass side has a 26.7 inch (680mm) scale and the frets are offset. This design delivers a slightly more ergonomic hand playing position as well as facilitating lower alternate tunings with ease. Upon first glance it looks strange seeing the frets placed on an angle however after a few minutes of playtime most players will adjust with ease.

The main tone production of the Ibanez RGD61ALMS Axion Label comes from a pair of Fishman Fluence modern humbuckers. They use a new active core technology that doesn’t rely on copper wire winding like traditional humbuckers. This allows them to be free of the hum, noise and inductance issues that are common with even the most coveted wire wound pickups. This also allows them to have two separate voices for a wider tonal pallet. Voice one is an active ceramic tone with crisp searing crunch, tight bass with no muddiness and a growl. Voice two has a more passive ceramic feel with organic high output and excellent distortion characteristics, dynamics and response.
