Brand: Huss and Dalton
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars
The Huss & Dalton T-OO14 is a fantastic mid-size steel string acoustic guitar, based on the classic ‘OO’ body size. This design dates to 1877 as a 12-fret gut string instrument, and evolving into the steel-string, 14-fret model in 1932 as banjo players moved to guitar.
The OO body design is very well balanced and articulate, and wonderful for finger style playing.
The Huss and Dalton T-OO14 is built with a Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The bindings are a dark plastic and the teardrop pickguard is faux tortoise. For hardware, Waverly tuners and a bone nut and saddle are used. There’s no pickup or electronics.
Huss and Dalton instruments are extremely well built with a close eye to detail and geometry. The construction is very clean, the materials are top quality, and the finish is near perfect.
Here’s the builder on the Huss & Dalton T-OO14:
“So you say you need a small guitar with 14 frets clear of the body? We offer you the Huss & Dalton T-OO14, a short-scale flat top with the same big voice as our standard 00 models. It looks so much like a small TOM that we’ve given it the same dress, whether in rosewood or mahogany versions. The time of the small-bodied guitar has returned, bringing with it the comfort and warmth that will make it your true friend for life.”
