❌SOLD❌ Hofner Gold Label Berlin Violin Bass Cream, 2016

Part of a now-discontinued special series, the Hofner Gold Label Berlin Violin Bass is the top of the line for these iconic instruments.

The Hofner Gold Label basses were signed by master builder Thomas Stuhlein at the Hofner shop in Hagenau, Bavaria. The sealed – body construction is Maple laminate for the top, sides and back. The neck is Maple with a bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard with a zero fret and 30 inch (762mm) scale, and the characteristically Hofner adjustable bridge is Ebony. Tuners are the stock open-gear, and the tailpiece is a Trapeze type with Hofner branding. These things together help give the bass its characteristic acoustic-bass style ‘thump’, in a package that’s compact and very comfortable to wear.

For electronics, twin “Staple” 511B pickups are installed and spaced normally, at the bridge and neck positions. Controls are classic Hofner, with teacup knobs and slider selector switches.

This Hofner Gold Label Berlin Violin Bass is in very good, clean condition with virtually no wear. It dates to October 12th 2016, based on both the serial number and date thoughtfully included on the Certificate of Authenticity.

The serial number – both the serial/model designation label and the Gold Label itself can be seen by removing the control plate – begins with S. In this version of Hofner’s serial numbering system, that S indicates 2016. The full model designation is GL-VBB-CR, which expands to Gold Label – Violin Bass Berlin – Cream.

The original tweed-style case is included, and contains the Hofner Certificate of Authenticity.
