The Gretsch G8128TCG, now superseded by the G6128T-57 Vintage Select, reproduces the 1957 Duo Jet in Cadillac Green and with TV Jones T-Armond pickups. These guitars vividly evoke the sounds of the 50’s Gretsch models, with plenty of twang and power.  We have only one of these. 

We’ve linked the video demo for the current version of this guitar, the G6128T-57 Vintage Select – these use fundamentally the same design, construction and parts, sound and play the same.  

This Gretsch G8128TCG was built for Gretsch by Terada in January 2014 and has never been sold, but is in ‘Shopworn’ condition, meaning that it has some light scuffing from being played in our retail space.   It features the typical Jet chambered body with a laminate Maple top on a Mahogany back, Mahogany neck and bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard with 57 style ‘Hump Block’ position markers. The bridge is an adjustable Melita style unit on a segmented Ebony base. The metal hardware is gold plated, including Grover Sta-Tite tuners and a Gretsch-branded V-cut Bigsby B3. The electronics are 50’s style, with a pair of TV Jones T-Armond single coil pickups based closely on the deArmond DynaSonic design, a three-position pickup switch, master volume, individual volumes and a master tone control.

The original black Gretsch hard shell case is included along with document envelope, truss rod wrench and case key.
