This is a real treat – a Gretsch G6120 FTM Player’s Edition, with a spectacular flame maple body, string-through Bigsby, pinned bridge, and locking tuners! This is a seriously good guitar, and these modern examples are among the best Gretsch has ever produced.

Gretsch introduced the 6120 in 1954 and it was an immediate hit, adopted by many of the top players like Chet Atkins and Eddie Cochrane. It’s undergone a number of refinements over the years including a shift to a thin double-cutaway body design.

In January of 2016, the Player’s Edition line was launched, and this Gretsch G6120 FTM is one of the early examples. This line included a number of improvements that are visually subtle but practically significant. The main elements are the addition of locking tuners, a drilled-through string bar for the Bigsby, a ‘pinned bridge’ and Schaller strap locks. The locking tuners and drilled-through string bar make changing strings a light breeze, and the pinned bridge keeps the bridge base from being shoved out of place during play – or during string changes. Still, the bridge can be easily lifted off for service or cleaning.

This Gretsch G6120FTM dates to April of 2016, and is in excellent, very clean condition with only very light wear. It has one further modification – the original rocking-bar bridge has been replaced with a compensated Compton brass model.

The original Gretsch-branded hard shell case is included, and contains the Gretsch documentation, the strap sections of the strap locks, truss rod wrench, and case keys.
