Neck	Mahogany neck with bound rosewood fingerboard. 25″ (63.5 cm)scale, 2 3/8″ (6.03 cm)nut width.
Frets	20 frets that will never, ever wear out.
Body	Mahogany body with top and back binding; top is also purfled.
Finish	Tobacco sunburst gloss finish.
Hardware/electronics	Enclosed vintage-Kluson-type tuners, substantial metal bridge and tailpiece; chrome control cover, volume and tone knobs. Output jack with chromed metal plate on the treble side where it won’t get in the way. The pickup is a faithful replica of the Oahu Tonemaster part. Bone nut.
Playability/Action	Action is typically kind of high on steel guitars. Barre chords are a bit tough unless you use a steel… The full 25″ scale length is quite a comfortable reach, and allows the strings to have enough tension for lower pitches.

Comments	This GoldTone LS-8 8-String Lap Steel is a great and affordable lap steel, a reproduction of the 1950’s Oahu ToneMaster. The 8 strings give it enormous range and it can cover most any type of music. A 6-string version is also available for $879 with case.
