The Godin LGXT AAA Dark Trans Red, is an extremely capable and versatile guitar, and this example has a special aspect – it was owned by the late Domenic Troiano – an extremely capable and versatile guitarist.
Introduced in 1996 and still in production, the Godin LGXT features a carved Maple-capped Maple body and a bolt-on Maple neck with Richlite fingerboard. It has locking tuners, a floating trem bridge with integrated hex pickup, a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers, onboard preamp and three outputs – acoustic, electric, and a 13-pin synth connector. It gets ALL the sounds!
This beautiful Godin LGXT has an AAA grade book-matched Flame Maple cap with a dark transparent red finish with light wear – Domenic did actually play it. Fret wear is light.
The original hard shell case is included.
Domenic Troiano was one of our first customers when The Twelfth Fret opened, and many of his guitars came through the shop as he was working constantly in Toronto studios and stages. His body of work is enormous and impressive. During one series of sessions, he worked with a pair of American artists – Donald Fagen and Walter Becker – who asked him to join the band they were forming, Steely Dan; unfortunately, work schedules did not permit this.
A note about dating – the serial number specifies that it was built in the 51st week of the Godin production year 2001. However, Godin’s production year starts August 1, so this was built in late July 2002.
