Here we have an excellent condition Gibson Memphis 1964 ES-345 Reissue in an unusual Sea Foam Green finish, built during 2016. This guitar is one of 50 built.
The full name of this model is “ES456416SGNH1”, which translates to “Gibson Memphis 1964 ES-345 Reissue – Sea Foam Green”.
The Gibson ES-345 and the top of the line ES-355 were introduced in 1959, following the very successful launch of the innovative, semi-solid thinline ES-335. These models share the same design concepts, but the ES-345 carried ‘stereo’ electronics, a six-position Varitone switch and split-parallelogram markers, while the ES-355 took that further with deeper binding, bound F holes, Mother of Pearl block position markers, standard Bigsby tailpiece and optional Mono wiring. The modern reissues are very similar, but are wired as Mono.
This Gibson Memphis 1964 ES-345 Reissue was built during 2016 at the Memphis plant, which finally closed in 2019 as Gibson restructured. It is in very good, clean and original condition with no appreciable wear of any kind. The nickel plated hardware has a slight patina and the Kluson-style tuners with plastic buttons add to the ‘vintage’ appearance. The Kluson style tuners are also a little bit lighter than the Grovers that often appear on other ES models, slightly aiding balance.
The original hard shell case – black with Gold interior – is included and contains the case key and the original Certificate of Authenticity.
