Brand: Gibson
Instrument Categories: Banjos, SOLD
Introduced in 1954 and offered until the devastating Nashville floods of 2010, the Gibson Mastertone RB 250 was the workhorse banjo for countless serious players. The Gibson RB-250 was the entry into the Mastertone line with any of the variations on that flat-head tone ring and rim system.
Here we have a Gibson Mastertone RB 250 built during 1975, with a Mahogany resonator and neck and walnut-stain finish. The bound Ebony fingerboard carries the classic Bowtie pattern and the headstock has a script Gibson logo and inlays in Mother of Pearl. Standard Gibson geared banjo tuners are at the head and the original clamshell tailpiece at the bottom.
This RB-250 is in quite good, clean and original condition with only light wear to the finish and plating. Fretwear is light to moderate, particularly on the lower frets and treble strings. It may be the most accessible way to get a Gibson Mastertone banjo!
The original Gibson branded hard shell case is included.
