Here we’re looking at a Gibson Les Paul Standard Cherryburst dating to December 16th 1998 and built at the Gibson Nashville plant. It is in overall good original condition with some light wear on the back in the form of light scratches, and a number of small dents and dings around the body particularly where the player’s arm rests on the lower bass bout.
It has little other wear, including negligible fret wear, and plays well. The pickups used on this Gibson Les Paul Standard are the original 498R and 490T set with chrome plated covers, and the original pickguard is still in place. (For current production, the pickguard is not mounted, though it’s included). The tuners are the original Gibson Deluxe style enclosed gear with plastic Keystone buttons, and they work very smoothly. At the other end, a chrome-plated Nashville style tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece set are fitted. At present, the tailpiece has been set a few turns above the top with lots of saddle down bearing angle.
This Gibson Les Paul Standard does not have weight relief or chambering, and is apparently a solid Mahogany back with a two-piece Maple cap. The neck is Mahogany with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The headstock Gibson logo is Mother of Pearl, and the classic trapezoid position markers are acrylic.
This guitar plays well and cleanly at a standard action height. The medium-large frets are in good shape with only minor wear.
A non-original hard shell case is included.
