Originally built between 1954 and 1963, the Gibson Les Paul Junior was marketed as the entry level Les Paul model, with a slab Mahogany body and a single P-90 pickup.
Simple and straightforward, the Gibson Les Paul Junior found its place in many aspiring rock bands and provided a thick, no-nonsense tone.
Construction is basic; a piece of Mahogany with a set-in Mahogany neck bearing a Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar – not the Holy Grail, but perhaps one of the Sacred Relics – a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Junior in largely original condition, and very playable.
The Gibson Les Paul Junior non-original parts include the reproduction tuners, aged stop/bridge, truss rod cover and likely the output jack plate. It’s very likely been refretted at some point, as the fret wear is less than the finish wear. The electronics are original. The sound is amazing, and it feels great.
The finish is somewhat worn, as expected from a guitar that’s been used over a period exceeding sixty years, but has the authentic patina only the passage of time can confer.
A newer brown Gibson hard shell case is included.
