The Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus was built from 1993 to 2001 as a high end version of the Classic, which provided the slimmer 1960 neck profile. As with other higher end Les Paul models, the body features a Mahogany back with a highly figured, bookmatched Flame Maple cap, Mahogany body and Indian Rosewood fingerboard. You may note that the inked serial number is very different from other Gibson models, but it is legitimate.
Here we’re looking at a Gibson Les Paul Classic Premium Plus in Honeyburst finish, with a pre-pack checklist date of December 21, 2001. This example is in very good, clean condition, plays well and has a comfortable weight of about 8.36 pounds (3.8kg). Fret wear is moderate.
The original Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners have been replaced with Gotoh equivalents, and the original high output 496T/500R ceramic-magnet pickups replaced with an Alnico-magnet Seymour Duncan JB and 59 set.
The original brown Gibson USA hard shell case is included, and contains the pickguard, original tuners, warranty and pre-pack inspection card, and truss rod adjuster.
