The Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 hearkens back to the 1954 models when the tune-o-matic and stop tailpiece combination were introduced. A big difference is the Pelham Blue finish instead of a gold top!
Built during 2018 at Gibson Nashville, this Gibson Les Paul Classic is excellent, clean and all original condition, with virtually no wear. It appears nearly unplayed.
Following as closely as possible the original 1954 models, the Gibson Les Paul Classic P90 uses a carved plain Maple cap (little point in painting a figured top!) on a non-weight relieved slab Mahogany body, with Mahogany neck and bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard – not Brazilian. Tuners are Grover Roto-Matics, with the ABR ‘Tune-o-Matic’ bridge and stop tailpiece at the body. Electronics start with a pair of P90 pickups fed through individual volume and tone controls, a three way selector switch and an output jack on the side. The jack plate here is metal.
This guitar plays very well – pretty much like a new guitar, not surprisingly given its pristine condition.
The original brown Gibson-branded hard shell case is included and contains the QC Checklist dated 6/8/18, a strap and some tools.
