Originally released in 1958 the Flying V introduced a radical and futuristic body shape which became an iconic staple of rock and roll and heavy metal! The Gibson Flying V 2017 T pays tribute to design features that became common place through the 70’s while using alternate woods such as Grenadillo for the fretboard.
The Gibson Flying V 2017 T uses a large double wing mahogany body attached to a slim taper mahogany neck, which is very fast playing with the ultimate access to the upper frets due to the body design. There is really no body mass getting in the way of your hand when reaching for the highest notes.
The Gibson Flying V 2017 T features a pair of Dirty Fingers humbuckers. These pickups are an accurate replica of the super-hot pickups designed by Gibson in the 70’s as a response to players wanting something more powerful to drive their amps. They use three ceramic magnets to provide the power and aggressive tone which has a massive crunch and works great for searing lead work. These pickups are really geared towards rock and metal playing which fits right in with the visuals of this iconic body design!
This Gibson Flying V 2017 T is New Old Stock (NOS). It is in new condition with all applicable warranties. While this specific version is not currently in the Gibson lineup, here is a link to a Legacy page describing the model.
