❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature Artist Proof #2 White, 2017

The Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Artist Proof #2 is the second of three production proof models built, before the design went to the regular line. All three of these guitars were personally approved by Alex Lifeson.   All three are autographed by Alex Lifeson on the back of the headstock, as seen in the attached Spec Sheet PDF linked below.

  Alex Lifeson is one of the most recognised rock guitarists, having spent his career with his band Rush. I am reminded of my high school days, seeing Rush perform in the school cafeteria on a stage made of folded tables; this was a long time ago and shows how dedicated Rush has been to working hard.

The Gibson ES-Les Paul is a fairly new model, using the venerable Les Paul body and neck shapes, but using the ES body construction principles – a semi-hollow body of maple/poplar/maple laminate for resonance with a center block for feedback resistance. The guitar is assembled with a combination of Hot Hide Glue and Franklin Titebond.

On the Alex Lifeson Signature model, the bracing is Adirondack Spruce with a Mahogany center block. The neck is Mahogany with a bound, 12 inch radius Richlite fingerboard, topped off with Mother of Pearl block position markers.

For hardware – everything is gold plated. The tuners are Grover Roto-Matics, paired with an aluminum stop tailpiece and Tune-o-Matic ABR bridge with Titanium saddles. Pickups are scatter-wound MHS Humbuckers, with the Bridge position pickup wound a bit hotter than the Neck. The control layout is standard Les Paul, with a pickup selector switch and individual volume and tone controls.

The finish is ‘Classic White’ gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, signed by Lifeson on the bass side of the fingerboard tag. For those who remember Rush tours, Alex often used a white ES-355 model which still comes out from time to time.

The original brown Gibson case (by TKL) is included.

This guitar is technically used as it is not coming directly from the manufacturer, but it is in as-new condition.  It’s been stored in its case, and is basically un-played.
