The Gibson ES-339 Thinline Archtop has everything the classic and very successful ES-335 offers, but with a comfortable, slightly scaled down body. Originating during 2007 from the Gibson Memphis Custom Shop, the ES-339 found immediate acceptance. The Gibson Memphis plant has now closed due to restructuring, so any future models will likely come from Nashville.
Construction of the Gibson ES-339 Thinline follows the pattern of the ES-335 family. The body is a traditional double cutaway F-hole archtop design, with top, back and sides of Maple laminate, and a solid Maple center block to dramatically reduce feedback and enhance sustain. The neck is Mahogany with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, and mother of pearl dot position markers. Hardware is straight ahead – classic Kluson Deluxe type tuners with plastic Keystone buttons, stop tailpiece and ABR bridge combination, and a pair of humbuckers with a standard Gibson style wiring configuration.
Here we’re looking at an Gibson ES-339 Thinline in a very nice tobacco sunburst, built during 2011 at the Memphis Custom Shop. This guitar is in very clean original condition with almost no wear.
The original black hard shell case is included.
