Brand: Gibson
Instrument Categories: Electric, Guitars, SOLD, Solidbody
During 2011, the Gibson ES-335S Reissue brought back the 1980 -1982 ES-335S Standard, one of three models offered between 1980 and 1982, the other two being the Deluxe and Custom. The original Standard and Custom fell out of the catalogs in 1982, and the Deluxe in 1982.
Though it has a familiar outline, the Gibson ES-335S Reissue, like the original, is very different from the ES-335. It is a pure solid body guitar, with no F-holes or chambering. The Deluxe and Custom models had Mahogany bodies and necks. For fingerboards, the Deluxe had a bound ebony fingerboard and the Custom ab unbound Indian Rosewood board. The Standard – the only one to be re-issued – has both a Maple body and three-piece Maple neck with unbound Indian Rosewood fingerboard.
The Deluxe and Custom models also sported a TP-6 fine-tuner stop tailpiece (a useful and reversible upgrade part which can be quickly installed on any stop-tailpiece Gibson model).
This Gibson ES-335S Reissue example dates to October 18, 2011, was built at Gibson Nashville and is in excellent condition with only the lightest of wear of any kind. The protective plastic film is still on the control access plate! The hardware is all original, including a set of BurstBuckers.
Sold with its original Gibson-branded black faux-gator hard shell case.
