❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-335 Dot P90 Sunburst, 2019

Here we have a rarity – a Gibson ES-335 Dot P90 model, from the now closed Memphis Tennessee plant, a blend of the ES-335 and the single coil P-90 equipped ES-330. This model was produced by the Memphis plant for a short time during 2019 and there’s no sign that it will appear again any time soon.

The ES-335 was a hit from the moment it appeared in late 1957 and with a few exceptions has always been equipped with humbucker pickups.  Gibson had been using the P- 90 since 1946,  and it featured on many models including the original Les Paul models.   During the Norlin years a few models were made with mini-humbuckers but these were short-lived. For the Gibson ES-335 Dot P90, the Memphis shop started with a standard ES-335 deducted the fingerboard binding, and routed for dog-ear cover P90s (the cover for P-90s is plastic, and is either the surface mount ‘Dog Ear’ or the ‘Soap Bar’ which drops into the pickup cavity; the coils are identical) . The results are all the playability and acoustic tone and sustain of the classic thinline model, but with the rich tone of the P-90.

This model is sold with its original Gibson hard shell case.
