Brand: Gibson
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
From time to time we see reissues of the seminal cutaway acoustic guitar, the Gibson CF-100. This was also built as the CF-100E, the more popular cousin with a P-90 style pickup.
Built from 1950 to 1958, the CF-100 is based on a standard smaller bodied steel string guitar, but with a Florentine (pointed) cutaway.
The reissue models are built at the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana, and feature Sitka Spruce tops with Mahogany for the sides, back, neck, tail and neck blocks. The bound fingerboard is Rosewood, as is the through-saddle bridge. There are some differences between the reissues and the originals – first, the Rosewood is Indian, not Brazilian, the Gibson inlay is Mother of Pearl rather than decal, and an L R Baggs Element pickup system is installed as stock.
This example dates to 2015 in Bozeman, and is in very clean condition. There is some light hazing of the finish where it’s had contact with the player, but it is very light. Fretwear is minimal, and would be invisible with a light polish.
The original Gibson hard shell case is included.
