Built in the Nashville Custom Shop, the Gibson 1957 Les Paul Junior Reissue is a faithful recreation of a simple yet surprisingly versatile instrument.
Launched in 1954 as an entry level, student model with a single cutaway and single P90 pickup, the Les Paul Junior had its first major revision in 1958 with a second cutaway to the body. In 1961, the body changed again to the new ‘SG’ design, in 1963 the name changed to SG Junior, and it was finally discontinued in 1971.
This Gibson 1957 Les Paul Junior Reissue is in very good, clean and original condition with the exception of a practical, reversible swap of the plain wraparound bridge / tailpiece for a ‘stairstep’ model allowing for better intonation; the original part is in the case’s neck pocket. There is a small pressure mark to the finish behind the bass end of the tailpiece.
Sold with the original black Gibson Custom arched top hard shell ‘Case made in Canada’ by TKL, containing the Certificate of Authenticity, truss rod adjuster, other printed materials and the original stop-tail bridge.
