Here’s a Fender Stratocaster Trans Red with Maple Neck, built during the CBS in Fullerton, California, in good clean all original condition and a fairly rare colour.

If you count the Broadcaster/Telecaster and Esquire as one basic design and the revolutionary 1952 Precision Bass as another, the Stratocaster was Leo Fender’s third complete Spanish style guitar design, though he also built a number of Hawaiian or Steel guitar models. Immediately successful, the Strat has stayed in production since its 1954 introduction.

This Fender Stratocaster Trans Red is a maple neck model, pairing with a fairly dense Ash body. The Trans Red finish is unusual and not a common colour for this era, and is somewhat lighter than the translucent ‘burgundy’ used on some Gibson Les Paul models. It’s in good clean and  original condition with only light play wear. The finish has a few dents around the edges, and on the back appears to have reacted to something that has added a light texture to the normal glass-like poly surface. The finish on the neck is unbroken, without the common chipping at the fingerboard edges. Fret wear is light.

The original hard shell case is included.
