The Fender Stratocaster HSS with a 2-point trem is one of the most significant, yet subtle changes to the venerable Strat design. These are two practical updates that increase versatility and reliability for the modern musical world.
Introduced in 1954 as a significant upgrade to the successful Telecaster, Leo Fender’s Stratocaster design was immediately popular and has been built continually since its appearance. Over time variations on the model have been introduced – many by other companies clearly basing their work on the Strat.
Here we’re looking at a Fender Stratocaster HSS in Candy Apple Red, with Maple Neck and a 2-point trem sporting vintage style pressed steel saddles. This guitar was part of the second wave American Standard series. The American Standard series was built from 1987 to 2017, and was then replaced by the American Professional series models.
This example is in great condition and was built during 2008 at the Fender plant in Corona, California. Wear is very minor with no visible wear or damage to the finish, and only very light fret wear. The medium jumbo fret wire provides plenty of traction for bending, and slightly increases note to note separation. This is one of my personal favourite setups. For the electronics, the pickups are a Fender Diamondback uncovered humbucker at the bridge, and a pair of Fender Tex-Mex single coils in the middle and neck positions.
Sold with its original hard shell case, containing all the original case candy – strap, trem arm, hang tags and picks.
