Brand: Fender
Instrument Categories: Electric, Guitars, SOLD, Solidbody
The Fender Jaguar appeared in 1962 as a direct appeal to Gibson players, with a 24 inch scale length, the new locking Trem and a host of electronic features. Placed at the top of the product line, the Jaguar used the new style offset body and the Rosewood fingerboard that Fender had recently started installing.
Here, we have a very clean condition, 3-tone sunburst Fender Jaguar built during 1965. The neck stamp reads June of 1965, and the pot codes indicate the 19th week of 1965 – May 10 to 16th. This places production to a few months after the purchase of Fender by CBS. Until recently, it had been held by its original purchaser and was well cared for.
The finish is in very good condition, and in particular the headstock and decal are undamaged. The electronics are largely original but the pickups have been professionally rewound to original Fender specifications, with the correct plain enamel wire.
The pickup preset circuitry, which is very complex compared to other Fender products like the Telecaster or Stratocaster, works well and is quite usable.
Overall, this guitar is in great condition and plays quite well. he original trem arm is included.
The supplied case is the original Made in Canada, distributor supplied model. At the time, these guitars were often not shipped with ‘Factory’ cases as is standard practice now; instead, local case or luggage makers were contracted by distributors. This was very common for guitars shipped to Canada.
