This blonde Fender CS Stratocaster from 2005 has an American Standard Neck from 2013 and is from the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California.
One of the obvious benefits of a bolt-on neck design is that either the neck or body can be changed if damage occurred. This was a key part of Leo Fender’s rationale for adopting the bolt-on-neck design. Another is to mix and match different bodies and necks to the player’s preferences; whether it be a specific colour, a specific combination of body and neck woods or a specific neck profile.
Here we have another example of a partscaster using official Fender parts. The ash body is a fender custom classic Stratocaster from the Fender Custom Shop with its associated parts (pickguard, controls etc). Part of the ‘thin skin’ series, it is finished with a thin layer of nitro as would have been applied during the 1950s. The maple neck is an American standard neck with locking tuners. Fret wear is light, and the guitar is in overall good condition with a few small chips here and there – also found on many original 1950’s light lacquer finishes!
A COA (for the body) is included with the original tweed hardshell case.
This guitar plays very well and unusually for ‘Partscasters’ is entirely assembled from actual Fender parts.
