❌SOLD❌ Fender Closet Classic Telecaster Pro Black, 2017

The Fender Closet Classic Telecaster Pro is a development of the Fender Custom Shop, recalling the classic early 1950s Telecaster but adding new features.

Here we’re looking at an excellent condition Fender Closet Classic Telecaster Pro, in ‘613 Black’, dated via its COA or Certificate of Authenticity to June 13 2017. It was built at the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California.

The Closet Classic Telecaster Pro follows the original Telecaster specifications, but not slavishly. The body is lightweight Ash, the neck is quartersawn Maple, as in the originals. But there are a number of improvements here, including having the truss rod adjuster at the headstock, a new bridge design with a split center saddle allowing better intonation, a 22 fret neck with large ‘6105’ fret wire and Twisted Tele pickups.

As the Closet Classic Telecaster Pro is based on pre-CBS models, the nitrocellulose lacquer finish is treated to exhibit signs of age and wear. Consequently there is a fair amount of lacquer checking. There is also one small finish chip by the High E string ferrule on the back.

In its original form, this Closet Classic Telecaster Pro was supplied with a single layer black pickguard; a second white pickguard was included and has been installed. The original black guard is in the case.

Currently strung with flat wounds, this guitar plays really well and its light weight makes it very comfortable.

The original hard shell case, with all case candy and Certificate of Authenticity and the Fender Custom Shop ‘Shop Floor Traveller’ document detailing the build specifications in a swell leather tri-fold holder, is included.

The 2013 Tele Pro also has a flatter 9.5” fingerboard radius, 22 6105 frets, locking tuners and a new low-profile Telecaster bridge with compensated brass saddles designed by the Custom Shop’s new research Special Division.”
