The Fender American Deluxe Telecaster was built from 2004 to 2010 and sat at the top of the Telecaster lineup for that period. The American Deluxe models included a number of modern updates, including medium-jumbo frets, a comfortable six-saddle bridge, and Samarium-Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) pickups with an S1 switch.
The SCN pickup was a Bill Lawrence stacked-coil hum-cancelling design, used for the duration of the American Deluxe production, from 2004 to 2010 but now out of production. Instead of Alnico V, they use Samarium Cobalt magnets with a wider magnetic field.
This example dates to 2009 and is in very good, clean condition with only light wear to the Montego Black finish and light natural tarnish to the plating. Fret wear is negligible to light, and the guitar has a comfortable, light weight body. To my hands, the Modern-C shape neck here is one of Fender’s most comfortable. The gold coloured pickguard nicely sets off the finish.
