Reflecting, 2006 was a very good year for instruments like this Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass – delivering slight improvements on a winning formula. Many of the 2006 Fenders we’ve seen from this year have been quite good.
The Fender Precision Bass has been one of the most influential instrument designs, with an impact far beyond simply playing the instrument. Introduced as a 1952 model, the Precision Bass rapidly gained acceptance with players who wanted a lighter, more portable and LOUDER instrument that delivered pitch with precision – due to the addition of frets. The feedback resistance of the solid body allowed stage and venue volumes to progressively increase.
Here we’re looking at a Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass in Sunburst finish from 2006. This example is in good clean condition with only light wear; it is strung with flat wound strings so fret wear is light. The body is Ash, and the Maple neck has an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The tuners are a modern Schaller-made improvement on the old-style tuners; the neck plate is stamped with the 60th Anniversary logos.Like its original predecessors, the truss rod adjustment is at the body end of the neck.
This Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass is sold with its original silver G&G case, which features ’60th Anniversary’ logos inside.
