❌SOLD❌ Fender 57 Strat Journeyman Relic Sherwood Green, 2016

With the Fender 57 Strat Journeyman Relic, a ‘standard’ ’57 Reissue Stratocaster receives the ‘Journeyman Relic’ treatment – used, but not abused. This excellent condition example sports a Sherwood Green finish and its Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is dated 3/30/16, March 30th 2016.

These are Fender Custom Shop models, built in Corona California. The ’57 Reissue model starts with the traditional Alder body and Maple neck, with body contouring, neck profiles and nitrocellulose lacquer finishes as used at the time. Vintage style hardware includes Kluson-style tuners and vibrato bridge and a single layer pickguard. The electronics reproduce the original style with the exception of the 5-way switch in place of the original 3-way; the difference between those two switches is the addition of two detents or small notches, in the switch frame for the 5-way. The fret wire used is larger than the original fairly low style, which provides more ‘traction’ when bending strings – and lasts longer.

The ‘Journeyman Relic’ term is a registered trademark owned by Fender. This treatment aims to reproduce the effects of age with home or semi-pro use at the occasional gig. Wear is not heavy, with expected minor dents and chips to the body finish. The neck treatment for Maple fingerboard necks includes wear-through of the fingerboard finish primarily in the low positions and under the higher strings, plus the treble edge of the fingerboard where the player’s hand will make contact.

This Fender 57 Strat Journeyman Relic is in very good to excellent condition – because these don’t look exactly like the originals did when shipped, it can be hard to judge. However, there is very little fret wear on this guitar, indicating that it has not been played very much at all, and any wear is factory stock.

The original rectangular G&G built tweed hard shell case is included, and contains the Certificate of Authenticity and case candy.
