Here’s something rare – a Feiten Blues Pro in gloss red, from Buzz Feiten, player extrordinaire and creator of the Buzz Feiten tuning system. Built in 2015, in the Los Angeles area, this model is a very hot blues guitar.
Based on the lines of the classic Tele, the Feiten Blues Pro uses an alder body with a bookmatched, flame maple cap and carries a transluscent, gloss red finish. The neck is bolt on, maple with rosewood and has a clear satin finish. The scale length is 25.25 inches, and the nut width 1.73 inches, a full C profile and 6100 size fret wire. The Bridge is a fixed unit, strings loading from the rear, with individually adjustable saddles. The custom wound Feiten pickups use Alnico V magnets and are wired to a standard 3-way switch, master volume and tone, but the bridge humbucker has a ‘Lead Rhythm’ switch for series-parallel.
This guitar plays very well, is in good condition with a few small dings, and is well thought out. That’s not surprising considering Buzz Feiten’s history. Feiten has been in the music world for years, playing with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band at Woodstock, and with countless other bands and artists as a member or sideman. The list of artists he’s worked with is impressive, from Greg Allman to Bob Dylan, Paul Butterfield, Aretha Franklin, Rickie Lee Jones, Commander Cody, Bette Midler… the list is long.
An Access hard shell case is included.
