Based on a Rosewood-capped Basswood body paired with an asymmetrical, oil-finish birds-eye Maple neck, the Ernie Ball MusicMan Axis SuperSport LTD hard tail delivers straight ahead performance.
Here we’re looking at a 2008 model Ernie Ball MusicMan Axis SuperSport LTD, built in San Luis Obispo, California. This is an LTD or Limited Edition model featuring an Indian Rosewood cap on a comfort contoured Basswood body, a pair of humbuckers and the optional hard tail bridge. The neck is standard 22 fret, 25.5 inch birds-eye figured Maple, with the very comfortable asymmetrical profile, and a Mother of Pearl ‘2008’ inlay at the octave. The MusicMan head is distinctive, with four tuners on the ‘bass’ side and two on the treble, helping to keep the center of gravity towards the body while providing a straight path for the strings.
This Ernie Ball MusicMan Axis SuperSport LTD is in very good condition overall, plays and sounds great.
A Levy’s Gig Bag is included.
From the Ernie Ball Music Man website, here’s a description of the Axis Super Sport:
“The Axis SuperSport has all the great features of the Axis guitar with a few upgraded options for ultimate versatility. Beautiful quilt or flame maple veneer over basswood with custom DiMarzio electronics are controlled by a five-way lever switch offering split coil tonal combinations unavailable on the Axis. The Axis Super Sport asymmetric hard rock maple neck allows for comfortable hand and finger positions across all 22 frets. “
