Just in time for the release of the new Dream Theater album we are featuring the new John Petrucci signature model, the Ernie Ball Music Man JP13. This year marks 13 years that John has been working with Ernie Ball Music Man guitars and the creation of a new signature model which can be heard all over the new Dream Theater album. John is a very demanding player and this guitar is jam packed with features to cover all of the styles and tones that he needs while in the studio and playing live.

The guitar starts with a basswood body, maple top and a mahogany tone block for warmth and sustain and has a 17″ radius neck profile for fast technical playing. The two main new features on this guitar are John’s new signature Dimarzio Illuminator pickups and the custom active preamp with a gain boost. The Illuminator pickups have great definition with a little bit more treble and tighter bass than his previous signature pickups. The active preamp and gain boost pretty much eliminate the need for an overdrive pedal or solo boost as the push/push volume control engages this feature.

Other high end features includes the super smooth two point floating trem, piezo pickup and custom middle position pickup wiring configurations.
