❌SOLD❌ Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 HH Bass Burgundy, 2011

Introduced in 2003 and still in production, the Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 HH Bass features active electronics for its pair of humbucking pickups.

At its core, the Bongo bass draws from the classic, proven bolt-on designs developed during the early 1950s. However, it is considerably more advanced and available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions, all with 24 frets. These are very versatile, reliable basses with a huge range.

This Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 5 HH bass dates to August 24, 2011, was built at the Ernie Ball facility in San Luis Obispo, California and features a Rosewood fingerboard – the most recent versions use Ebony.

Overall in good condition, it sports a gloss metallic burgundy finish – rather like the Oxblood tone Fender uses on the Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster. The finish has some honest play wear and a few small dents, but is unbroken. This version uses a pair of humbucking pickups fed through an active preamp powered by a pair of standard 9v batteries, conveniently accessed on the back. The nut is Ernie Ball’s compensated model, aiding tuning across the full range of the bass.

Fret wear is light to moderate, and there is plenty of fret material left for a fret dress, though the bass plays well and cleanly as is. 

The original Ernie Ball Music Man molded hard shell case is included.
