This is a lovely Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 4 HH bass in Carbon Blue Pearl, dating to July 2nd 2007 at San Luis Obispo, California. The Bongo Bass first appeared in 2003, and is available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions.
This Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo 4 HH bass is built with a Basswood body and Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard, and small acrylic half-moon position markers – nothing listed on CITES schedules, so no documentation is required. The electronics are active, powered by a pair of standard 9 volt batteries, stored in a pair of conveniently rear-mounted holders. This bass is designed to be played in professional situations, and does very well at it.
It is in overall good condition, with two small finish chips in the usual and most vulnerable area – at the outer edges of the headstock. It plays well, and like the Bongo line, is extremely versatile.
The original Music Man hard shell case is included.
Here is Ernie Ball Music Man on the Bongo 4 HH bass:
“The Bongo represents everything a modern bass should be: well balanced, comfortable, resonant and expressive with effortless playability.
The double cutaway basswood body design is of superior construction and along with a 24 fret finished neck offers unimpeded access for high register two octave fretwork.
Available in single humbucking, double humbucking and humbucking single configurations the Bongo along with its 4 band eq, Neodymium pickups and 18V active preamp deliver a powerful combination of unparalleled tonal diversity.”
