Here is a fabulous Emerald X20-Nylon Artisan model in – – Emerald Green! This very interesting instrument is built in rural Donegal, Ireland by Alistair Hay.
Emerald guitars was formed in 1991, with the first production models being settled and available in 2001. In 2007, supply issues forced the company to close, but re-opened with revised designs in 2009. These models are hand laid carbon fibre, with electric, steel string acoustic, and nylon string acoustic models offered.
This Emerald X20-Nylon Artisan is in excellent condition with only the slightest wear. This model was introduced in this form during 2015, but unfortunately, as the label did not receive a serial number, we cannot reliably date it further; from its known history we’ve assigned a date of around 2018. Unusually for nylon-string models, it has 24 stainless steel frets. The nut and saddle are Graphtech low friction parts, and the bridge is hand-crafted carbon. The tuners are Schertler models.
