In the late 1950’s and into the 1960’s, Valco produced thousands of guitars like this Airline deluxe 3-pickup model, in fantastic shapes and colours. Valco also built many other brands, including National and Supro, and built amplifiers for Gretsch and Gibson. In 1967, Valco merged with Kay, another prominent builder, but this lasted less than a year and both companies were gone.
Eastwood Guitars started in 2001 to re-create the many wild designs of brands like Airline, Supro and Mosrite. Eastwood is based in Brampton, Ontario and uses three factories in China and Korea; they ship from North America and Europe.
Here we’re looking at an Eastwood Airline Deluxe 3P in a limited edition Indigo finish; it is serialized as 10 of 24. This model is also described as the Airline 59 3P DLX.
This Eastwood Airline Deluxe 3P guitar is in great condition, and features all the things you’d expect from and Airline – the angular, asymmetrical body, individual controls for each of the three humbucking pickups, and as a modern improvement, a Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece paired with a roller saddle bridge. It plays well, and as you can hear in the Eastwood demo video, sounds great.
The original rectangular hard shell case is included.
