The Eastman AR805CE Jazz Guitar is a high quality archtop guitar sporting a cutaway and traditional neck-mount pickup, with controls on the pickguard so the solid spruce top is not restricted by extra hardware. This latest version has all of the great acoustic sound that we’ve come to expect from this model, with an added Johnny Smith style suspended neck pickup with adjustable pole pieces (gets perfect string-to-string output) as well as a volume AND tone control mounted on the edge of the pickguard! Add Eastman’s rich “Classic” lacquer finish and some very classy ebony appointments and this becomes an unbeatable guitar for that jazz standard repertoire!
Hearkening back to the days of archtop supremacy, the Eastman AR805CE uses a 16 inch wide, 3.25 inch deep body built with solid woods – carved solid spruce for the top, carved solid maple for the back, and maple for the sides and neck. Ebony is used for the bridge, fingerboard, headplate, pickguard and tailpiece cover. The body and neck are bound with grained ivoroid, and the guitar is finished in a traditional style nitrocellulose lacquer sunburst finish. Gold-plated Grover Imperial tuning gears with the classic deco “stairstep” buttons are installed.
