The Duesenberg Starplayer Bass takes inspiration from classic German basses of the 1950’s and 1960’s, but with significant improvements.
The Starplayer Bass uses single cutaway hollow body with laminated Spruce top on a laminated Flame Maple back and bent Maple sides. The Maple neck is short scale – 30.3 inch or 770mm – and has a bound Rosewood fingerboard, plus a dual-action truss rod. The hardware is simple but effective – locking Duesenberg tuners, a very solid and fully adjustable bridge, trapeze tailpiece, a pair of bass humbuckers wired to individual volume and master tone control, and an on/off slider switch.
This example dates to 2017 and is in very nice condition, with a sunburst top and translucent black stain for the back. It’s quite comfortable, and it has that distinctive German bass tone, but with more clarity, definition and sustain.
The original hard shell case is included.

“The Starplayer Bass is a semi-hollow, dual pickup, 22 fret electric bass, featuring arched top and back, bent sides and a 770mm medium scale. It is available in a choice of different editions from opaque and transparent finishes, to our famous tolex covered Outlaw model and the Mike Campbell version.
The Starplayer Bass was designed to complement the overall construction of our Starplayer TV model. Therefore, the Starplayer Bass is made from spruce for the arched top, flamed maple for the back and bent sides and American Hardrock Maple for the neck.
The Starplayer Bass is fitted with two of our Duesenberg Bass Buckers, which will give you clear and rich overtones and crisp response in any situation.”
