Here we are looking at a real rarity – a DeLap JRocker HH Headless model with trem, built during 1997 in Monterey, California and sporting a very well done metallic emerald green finish.
The DeLap JRocker is a headless guitar taking cues from the highly innovative Ned Steinberger design, and using the JCustom XS trem bridge and string retainer set. The body is Alder, the bolt-on neck is flamed Maple with a 20 inch radius, striped Ebony fingerboard and Dunlop 6000 fretwire. The pickups are custom Arcane humbucker models, with master Volume, tone and a mini pickup selector.
This is an extremely resonant guitar that plays very well, and its light weight and compact size make it very comfortable to play for long periods of time. It is in very good, clean condition with light play marking to the top.
Bill DeLap built guitars for the late Alan Holdsworth, and has been working out of The Guitar Lab in Monterey since 1975. While he apparently does still take orders for custom instruments, delivery times stretch into years. Used examples are infrequently seen, so if you are interested in one of these, here’s your chance!
