The Deering Artisan Goodtime Special Resonator Banjo embodies Greg Deering’s lifelong vision to make an affordable banjo that is the best sounding, best playing, and best looking US-made banjo in its class. Finished in a pre-war style, dark brown stain with vintage artisan inlay package with a classic fiddle-head peghead and planetary tuners. A solid, dependable instrument that is immensely playable with excellent tone and clarity.
The “Special” versions of the Goodtime family of banjos feature a patented steel tone-ring based on the Deering “Eagle 20-10” tone- ring, tightly fitted to the maple, 3 ply rim using a 20-ton press. Many banjos at twice the price can’t compare to the Special tone-ring technology. The all- maple neck, rim and resonator construction produces that classic Bluegrass “snap” we expect from a superior banjo.
All Deering banjos include The Twelfth Fret’s complete setup; head tension set to G#, action at 5/64, bridge positioning for ideal intonation and capo spikes installed.
We also carry the open back and resonator Special models in the standard natural blond maple finish; featuring the same wood-species and tone at an even lower price.
