Here we have a Collings OM1 Custom Deep Body, based on a stock OM1 but with a half inch deeper body providing more bass and fuller sound, filling out an already great tone. It also has a pyramid bridge, herringbone top binding, slightly wider fingerboard, and a Style 1 Sunburst finish.
This Collings OM1 Custom has a 4.5 inch body depth and a 1.75 inch nut width. It is constructed with a Herringbone-bound Sitka Spruce top and Honduran Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks and neck, with Ebony for the head plate, fingerboard and custom pyramid bridge. The braces are Sitka Spruce, and the tuners are Nickel Waverly ‘butterbean’ models with a 16:1 ratio. The pickguard is a ‘Dalmation’ type. The nut and saddle are hand cut Bone. The finish is gloss nitrocellulose lacquer with a Style 1 Sunburst for the top, and is outstanding.
This example was built during 2012 in Austin Texas and is in very good, clean condition. There are a couple of very small pressure marks, but otherwise it is in exceptionally good shape.
