Brand: Collings
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, REDUCED, SOLD
The Collings CJ is a take on the classic ‘Gibson style’ slope-shouldered dreadnought guitar, one of the two most successful large-body designs – the other being the ‘Martin style’ square shoulder. These two designs both date to the early ears of the 20th century, with the guitars Martin built for the Ditson company from around 1916.
This Collings CJ MH A SS SB Short Scale Steel String Guitar dates to 2008 and is in excellent condition with very little wear of any kind. Its full model name is ‘Collings CJ MH A SS SB’, or a Collings CJ with Mahogany back and sides, Adirondack Spruce top, Short Scale (24.75 inches) and a Sunburst finish. Aside from the Adirondack Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, it uses Mahogany for the neck with Ebony for the fingerboard, headplate and bridge. No Rosewood is used, so it does not require any CITIES documentation.
This guitar is in great shape and has the extremely high build, fit and finish quality typical of a Collings instrument. It has the warm, full tone of a slope shoulder guitar, and will only improve with playing. The original Collings hard shell case is included.
