The Charvel EVH Art Series was built in the USA between 2004 and 2007 following Edward Van Halen’s departure from the Peavey fold.
Coming from the Charvel custom shop, the Charvel EVH Art Series models featured reproductions in three colour variations of Van Halen’s original taped-graphic finish. The bodies are basswood paired with a quartersawn maple neck, a Floyd Rose locking trem set with D-Tuna, Schaller tuners, a Wolfgang pickup and one volume control (with a ‘Tone’ knob).
This example dates to 2006 and is in excellent original condition, with the original hardshell case. It plays well and cleanly; the Floyd bridge springs are currently set to a high tension so the back edge of the bridge rests on the body. This keeps the guitar in tune should a string happen to break. Fret wear is light. The action is relatively low, and it’s strung with 9-42 strings, so a light touch works well and doesn’t chew away at the frets as quickly as heavier strings and higher action.
