Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
Based on Eric Clapton’s guitar of choice for his iconic MTV Unplugged performance, the Martin 000-28EC pairs Sitka Spruce with East Indian Rosewood for a well-balanced tone. And this one is Left Handed!
The C. F. Martin 000 model, on which the 000-28EC Eric Clapton is based, was first introduced in 1902 and with a number of updates has been in continuous production. It is very similar to the later OM or Orchestra model – the two models share the same body design but, the OM has a 25.4 inch scale length compared to the 000’s 24.9 inch.
As a ’28’ model, the Martin 000-28EC features a Sitka Spruce top, with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and headplate. The neck is Mahogany with an unbound Ebony fingerboard, and the bridge is also Ebony. The fingerboard sports the ‘Diamonds and Squares’ pattern plus the Eric Clapton signature at the fingerboard end, in Mother of Pear.
This Left-Handed 000-28EC example is in very good, very clean condition with only the slightest wear. Its label specifies that it is number 19886, aside from its base serial number. The original hard shell case is included.
