Each AAAA Adirondack red spruce top on the Boucher SG51 OM Hybrid is handpicked by Robin Boucher for looks and tone. Red spruce has a high ceiling for tone production which means you can drive a lot of energy with a flat pick or your fingers to produce lots of volume and tone. Typically red spruce has a very strong note fundamental with crisp focused treble frequencies. This sound board pairs really well with Indian rosewood sides and back which has a rich bass and lower midrange. The hand scalloped and forward shifted x braces are also made from Adirondack spruce allowing an excellent energy transfer and top vibration.
The visual appointments on the Boucher SG51 OM Hybrid are a classic maple body binding along with herringbone purfling and rosette. The satin finished mahogany neck and ebony fretboard feel very smooth and the medium elliptical neck profile should feel comfortable for most players.
