Here’s something special – a Boucher LTD OMH built with Flamed Black Walnut for the sides and back, and Adirondack Spruce in a Moonwood form for the top.
Moonwood is not a specific variety of any kind of wood species. Rather, the name refers to when it was harvested; at varying seasons and phases of the moon, sap content is higher or lower. During autumn and winter, when the tree is moving to hibernation, and just before the new moon, sap content is at its lowest. Used as guitar tops, Moonwood has all its strength and resilience, but is lighter and more responsive.
Boucher guitars are built in Berthier-sur-Mer, Quebec at the top of the Adirondack Mountain chain, and both Adirondack Spruce and Black Walnut are trees native to the area.
This Boucher LTD OMH is a limited edition guitar based on an OM or Orchestra Model body design with Herringbone for the top purfling and rosette. The top and braces are a very white Adirondack Spruce, harvested as Moonwood, paired with nicely flamed Black Walnut. The neck is Mahogany, with Ebony used for the fingerboard and bridge. The headstock features Waverly tuners and a Mother of Pearl Boucher logo; the nut ands saddle are bone. The body finish is gloss, and then neck is satin.
The Boucher LTD OMH is a wonderful, very well built instrument. The Orchestra Model body design provides plenty of volume with an even representation and balance throughout the harmonic range.
The original hard shell Boucher case is included.
