Brand: Beard Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, Resophonic Guitars, SOLD
The Beard E Model Squareneck is another spectacular resophonic instrument from Paul Beard’s shop in Hagerstown, Maryland. The E model body is based around a dreadnought shape with an open bracing system. This guitar is designed to be played hard and loud and step right up to its place in a hard-driving band, delivering exceptionally brilliant treble and rich, full bass.
The solid flame Maple wood selection used on the E model is simply stunning and is really set off by the subtle sunburst shading. The ivoroid-bound fingerboard is Ebony with a Snowflake inlay pattern, with Waverly tuners installed at the head. The Fishman Nashville Jerry Douglas pickup is factory installed.
The Beard JD Blackbird Jerry Douglas Signature Squareneck also uses the E model body design, with solid mahogany construction, but with solid Mahogany rather than Maple. Read our feature on the JD Blackbird here.
These models come with a perfectly fitting hard shell arched top case built by TKL in Canada.
Here is the builder on the Beard E Model:
“In 1987 Paul Beard’s first open body E Model set the bar for the stellar tone and responsiveness Beard Guitars is famous for. With its balance of power and subtlety the E Model is the ultimate workhouse resonator. Whether your playing solo or cutting through a crowded mix, the E Model does the job. The E Model features all select solid tone wood construction, snowflake fretboard inlays and curly Maple binding throughout. Under the hood the E model sports a hand spun Beard Legend Cone™ and an original #14 ™ Spider. “
