The Avalon A200 is a classic Auditorium sized guitar, producing a wonderfully rich, balanced tone with depth and sparkle from its Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides.
The Avalon Guitar company is based in Newtonwards in County Down, Northern Ireland, east of Belfast. It is a fairly direct descendant of the Lowden guitar company. Apparently for a number of legal and licensing reasons, when the Lowden name was sold, its luthiers were blocked from contributing to new designs and reformed under the Avalon name. Avalon liquidated in 2013 but has since reformed.
This Avalon A200 is a very nice, compact Auditorium body guitar. The top is Sitka Spruce, paired with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides bridge and headplate. The neck is Mahogany with an unbound Ebony fingerboard. It is in good condition overall, with a few small dents and natural finish sinking into the pores of the wood, but no finish checking. It has a clear Mylar pickguard on the top, which is just barely visible. It plays well, and has a wonderful tone, perfect for fingerstyle.
A Hiscox case is included.
