Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
Built at his workshop in Mississauga, Ontario, the Anthony Karol Orchestra Model is a fine example of skill and meticulous craft work.
The Orchestra Model design is based closely on the classic 000 body size, but normally has a longer scale length. Karol makes the body slightly wider and rounds the shoulders for slightly increased bass output, with the goal of a more even response across the spectrum. This design is highly favoured by fingerstylists who tend to need very even tonal representation.
Here, this Orchestra Model is built with a Spruce top and Amazonian (not Brazilian) Rosewood, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. Rosewood is also used for the headplate, backstrap (on the back of the head) and the Laskin style armrest. The body features a soundport on the upper bass bout, and this provides an improved sonic experience for the player. The rosette features risewood and very blue Paua shell rings. The top has a clear, thin tap plate applied over the gloss finish.
Gotoh 510 tuners and a K&K pickup system are installed.
This Karol Orchestra Model is signed as number 120, dating to 2016. It is in very good condition with almost no wear. Consequently it’s not had a chance to fully develop its voice but as is it is very full and rich, and plays very well.
The original tweed hard shell case is included.
