Brand: Alberico Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
This Alberico OM Cutaway guitar was built during 2002 in beautiful Caledon Ontario, using Sitka Spruce, Indian Rosewood, Mahogany and Ebony.
Fabrizio Alberico has been building for many years, and in the late 1990s learned from Sergei de Jonge. From 200 to 2004, he built guitars in Caledon, then returned to BC and ultimately to his current shop in Ladysmith.
It’s always a pleasure to see, handle and play a guitar like this Alberico OM Cutaway. It is extremely well built with a great attention to detail, fit and finish. The top is Sitka Spruce and the sides, and back are Indian Rosewood while the head plate and backstrap are Brazilian Rosewood. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the heel cap, fingerboard and bridge. The rosette features a ‘ribbon’ design perhaps made with sections of Brazilian Rosewood and shell. On the heel cap, there’s a stylized ‘A’ in Abalone. The tuners are Schaller models with black buttons, and a passive pickup is mounted to the bridge plate leading to an endpin jack. The neck joint is a hybrid single-bolted tenon, allowing for a much easier neck reset process should that ever be necessary.
This guitar is very well built and in very good condition. It plays well and has a rich, well balanced voice with good representation throughout the range.
Sold with its original Calton Mustard coloured lightweight flight case.
