Brand: Duggan-Smith
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
Tony Duggan-Smith has been a fixture on the Canadian music scene for several decades, starting in fine arts and moving through Jean Larrivee’s shop. In addition to his building skills, he is responsible for a lot of very fine inlay patterns.
This guitar is known as the ‘Raven’ because of the suggestive dark areas on the quartersawn Brazilian Rosewood back. This rosewood set is used for the back, sides and peghead veneer. The bridge and fingerboard are ebony and the neck is Honduras mahogany. The top is Sitka Spruce. Overall it is in very good condition with little wear. A hardshell case is included.
This is a fairly large body guitar, and it has a pretty big sound to match. It is fairly bright and even, without excessive bass or boominess. The finish is in very good condition, and the workmanship is excellent. Overall, this is a very fine instrument.
